Welcome to Softburn Scent Studio. These Terms of Service apply to your use of our website and to all purchases made through Softburn Scent Studio. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. About Softburn Scent Studio

Softburn Scent Studio is an Australian small business offering hand-poured candles, home fragrance products and related goods.

Throughout these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Softburn Scent Studio.

2. Products

We aim to display and describe our products as accurately as possible. However, due to the handmade nature of our products, slight variations may occur between individual items.

Variations may include minor differences in colour, finish, texture, wax appearance, vessel appearance and other characteristics. These variations are a natural part of handmade products and do not necessarily indicate that an item is faulty.

Product colours may also appear slightly different depending on your screen or device settings.

3. Handmade Products & Processing Times

Softburn Scent Studio products are handmade and/or prepared to order unless otherwise stated.

Please allow approximately 2–3 business days for your order to be prepared and dispatched. During launches, promotions, limited releases or periods of high demand, processing times may be longer.

Processing times are separate from shipping and delivery times.

4. Orders

By placing an order with Softburn Scent Studio, you confirm that the information provided at checkout is accurate and complete.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including in cases of suspected fraud, incorrect pricing, product unavailability or errors affecting an order.

If we cancel an order after payment has been received, the applicable amount will be refunded.

5. Pricing & Payment

All prices displayed on our website are in Australian dollars (AUD) unless otherwise stated.

Prices may be changed at any time without notice. Any price change will not affect an order that has already been accepted by us, except where required to correct an obvious pricing or technical error.

Payment must be successfully completed using one of the payment methods available at checkout before an order can be processed.

6. Shipping & Delivery

Shipping costs and available delivery options are displayed during checkout.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address. Softburn Scent Studio is not responsible for delays or delivery issues caused by incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the customer.

Once an order has been dispatched, delivery timeframes may be affected by the relevant postal or courier service and circumstances outside our reasonable control.

7. Returns, Refunds & Damaged Products

Due to the nature of fragrance products and personal scent preferences, we generally do not offer refunds or exchanges simply because you change your mind or do not like the fragrance selected.

If your product arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, please contact Softburn Scent Studio as soon as reasonably possible and provide your order details and photographs of the product and packaging where appropriate.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Fragrance Preferences

Fragrance is subjective, and individual perceptions of scent strength and fragrance notes may vary.

Descriptions of fragrance notes on our website are provided to assist customers in selecting a scent but do not guarantee that every customer will perceive or experience a fragrance in exactly the same way.

A dislike of a selected fragrance does not, by itself, mean that the product is faulty.

9. Candle & Product Safety

Customers are responsible for following all safety instructions, warning labels and care directions supplied with our products.

Candles must never be left burning unattended and should be kept away from children, pets, drafts and flammable materials.

Failure to follow supplied safety and care instructions may result in damage or injury. Nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded under Australian law.

10. Intellectual Property

All content associated with Softburn Scent Studio, including our branding, logos, product photography, graphics, written content, product descriptions and original designs, is owned by or licensed to Softburn Scent Studio unless otherwise stated.

Content may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, modified or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

11. Website Use

You agree not to misuse our website or attempt to interfere with its operation, security or functionality.

You must not use our website for unlawful, fraudulent or malicious purposes.

12. Promotions & Discount Codes

Discount codes, promotional offers and limited releases may be subject to additional conditions.

Unless otherwise stated, promotional codes cannot be combined with other offers, exchanged for cash or applied retrospectively to previous purchases.

We reserve the right to modify or withdraw promotions where reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law.

All products are subject to availability.

We may limit quantities, discontinue products or temporarily remove products from sale. If an item becomes unavailable after an order has been placed and we are unable to fulfil the order, we will contact you and provide an appropriate refund or alternative where agreed.
